It is the duty of the German Environment Agency air monitoring network to accomplish the German monitoring obligations, which result either from the signing of international agreemens (e.g. UN ECE Convention on long range transboundary air pollution) or from the EU legislation. Measuring programs, measurement parameters, measurement methods are specified and are developed by experts in international working groups.
